Southeast Local Schools received a major donation Thursday from Kinder Morgan, developer of the Utopia Pipeline project, to support the district’s athletic and music programs. Allen Fore, vice president of public affairs for Kinder Morgan, announced the partnership with Southeast Local Schools at a student assembly in Waynedale High School, which will include a donation of $83,000 to support future projects.

“We are honored that Kinder Morgan has provided its generous support to our district,” said Southeast Local Schools Superintendent Jon Ritchie. “Our high school’s athletic and music programs will benefit greatly from this donation. The numerous improvements we plan to make will strengthen our students’ educational experience and be appreciated by the broader community.”

Waynedale High School’s athletic facilities will receive upgrades from the donation, and Kinder Morgan’s name will be displayed on new scoreboards purchased through the athletics sponsorship and partnership with the school.

“Kinder Morgan is pleased to provide this support to Southeast Local Schools and Waynedale High School,” said Fore. “We are proud to continue our 60-year commitment in partnering with local groups and nonprofit organizations across Ohio.”

Waynedale High School, located in Apple Creek, Ohio, is part of the Southeast Local School District, which spans over 126 square miles of land in Wayne and Holmes counties.
